How It Works

Resort Shield is an information system used to track timeshare tour takers across all of our client resorts. This offers the capability to identify customer patterns and behaviors on a much larger scale than simply looking at the tour flow of a single resort. A larger and more accurate pool of data can greatly increase any resort’s ability to make informed decisions in regards to tour-flow, and allow for more exacting implementation of tour qualifications.

A resort that uses Resort Shield can create a fully customizable, multifaceted set of criteria that allows them to define the frequency, and related attributes, of tour taking that will place prospects in one of three rankings. Then, while qualifying a tour and using non-company specific information that they already collect, marketers and front desk staff can scrub potential customers against our database using their company’s criteria.

Resort Shield is an information service, as stated before, and we do not want to tell you what tours you can and cannot take at your resort. What you do with the information provided by this service is entirely up to you, although by implementing some recommended policies that revolve around Resort Shield you can reap benefits and savings in nearly every aspect of timeshare sales and marketing.

Lastly, Resort Shield is self-populating, so we as a company will not now or ever ask for access to your company's private sales and marketing data.

As shown above, Resort Shield has been written with the diversity of the timeshare community in mind. Both OPCs and tour venders work in many different locations and under different circumstances. Because of this fact, we designed Resort Shield to be accessible through many different media. In locations that offer Internet access, you can use a PC to access a webpage interface for our software. If a PC is not an option due to size constraints, you can use a PDA, iPhone/iPod,

blackberry, or other web enabled cell phones and devices to access a special wireless web interface. If the Internet is not an option, you can simply send an SMS, or cell phone text message, containing your request and Resort Shield will text you back with a response within seconds. Lastly, because of Resort Shield's Web Service architecture, we are excited to be able to offer resorts the ability to, with the aid of a developer, integrate Resort Shield seamlessly into their existing applications!

The information provided by Resort Shield can have a direct and meaningful affect on your marketing budget, and this calculator is intended to show that in real numbers. Resort Shield can help protect your OPC locations and phone rooms against prospects that wire themselves. Furthermore, risks are compounded in areas with several competing resorts, which have unusually high percentages of prospects who are taking advantage of the system going from resort to resort.

This situation is alleviated by enforcing your company’s tour qualifications through your Resort Shield criteria, and identifying the amount of presentations a prospect has taken within a defined timeframe, before deciding whether or not to spend your marketing dollars on them. Keep in mind the tour flow at the resort should not be negatively affected by using strict qualifications, and you can change your scrub criteria at any time if you feel there has been a negative impact.
